ABOUT US

We are an independent Kitchen & Tap House located in the heart of Southsea. Our name derives from Thomas Croxton, who built the first houses in the area around 1809. The area subsequently became known as Croxton Town, but in 1857 the town’s name was changed to Southsea, after King Henry’s Southsea Castle.

Located in the old Southsea Post Office we offer craft beer, cocktails, wine and spirits, along with award winning food inspired by our travels from around the world. Our Sunday lunch was awarded best in the region after a national search held by Unilever Food Solutions.

Can’t make it down to us?

Home of the Croxtons Shant!

Shant is local dialect for beer, and we’re proud to bring you Croxtons SHANT, a crispy pilsner lager, and now we have SHANT IPA a hazy, juicy India Pale Ale.

Craft beer is our thing and our 7 guest taps hold locally sourced and Internationally recognised beers. Our offerings change frequently so pop in to see what we have on tap this week!
